Deb Lavender, Candidate for State Representative, District 94, has received the hallmark endorsement of former State Representative Jane Bogetto.
Having first been elected to the House of Representatives in a 2005 special election, Bogetto was an advocate for education, defender of the environment, and an avid champion for the people of the 94th district.
"I am very pleased to have gained the support of Jane," said Lavender, "she is a distinguished Democrat in the district and well respected. Jane worked hard for all the people in Missouri, and
I hope to follow her foot steps."
Lavender is a physical therapist and owns a small outpatient practice in Des Peres. She has lived in Kirkwood for more than 12 years and is raising her 13 year old nephew who is a student at North Kirkwood Middle School.
Lavender will be challenging first term Republican incumbent Rick Stream. The GOP will want to retain this seat so Lavender will be on their target list. Lavender is gearing for a challenging but successful campaign.
"I am happy to support Deb. She's been working hard and all of the Democrats are proud of her efforts." Said Bogetto "I am certain that Deb will give this campaign everything she has and will be victorious in November."
Lavender has also received the endorsement of United Auto Workers of Region 5.
The UAW is one of the largest and most diverse unions in North America, with members in virtually every sector of the economy. "I am honored to receive the recognition from UAW and to receive their endorsement" said Lavender, "I look forward to working with UAW on key priorities for working families, particularly health care issues."
UAW-represents workplaces range from multinational corporations, small manufacturers, state and local governments, to colleges and universities, hospitals and private non-profit organizations. The UAW has approximately 640,000 active members and over 500,000 retired members in the United
States, Canada and Puerto Rico.
Lavender began campaigning in July 2007, and the election is November 4th 2008. Deb will go to work in Jefferson City to focus on key issues such as healthcare reform, improving public education, re-energizing our environment and enhancing small business practices.
Lavender is running for the 94th Legislative District which consists of Kirkwood and Des Peres.
